During a copyedit, as with our other multi-stage packages, there is a “pass-back” period. At the end of the line editing stage, the editor will return the manuscript to the author for you to approve or deny edits, as well as make any changes needed, before the final proofread. We feel this maintains the author’s voice and writing style, while producing a higher quality of work.
Style sheets are crafted by the editor throughout this process; they are available upon request once the work is complete.
Changes made in copyedits are largely track changes in Word, but can include the occasional comment in order to confirm if a word is dialect or a typo, or a note on word etymology if needed. At the end of the day, your book is your own, and you have the right to both approve or deny any changes we make. Editors are available by email for any follow-up questions throughout the process, as well as after.
All first-time clients will receive a complimentary sample edit for the first five pages of your manuscript. This allows our team to insure your book receives the level of editing required at this stage in its journey. We strongly encourage requesting samples from any editor, so you can be sure they’re the right choice for you.
Custom payment plans area available for every service we provide. We understand that publishing is a long term financial commitment, and are happy to work with you to make the cost of putting out your next book a little easier on your budget.
