The foundations of a book are laid down in this stage of the editing process.

Do you have a project which has been rejected time and time again, yet no one has been able to identify what’s wrong with it?
Are you a first time author?
Experimenting in a new genre?
Writing outside of your comfort zone?
This is the big-picture edit you want.

In addition to comments in the manuscript margins that will identify the specific places of concern, authors will receive an editorial letter that addresses:

  • Pacing
  • Plot
  • Character development
  • Fact-checking
  • Dialogue
  • Setting
  • Atmosphere
  • POV
  • Narrative style
  • Target audience
  • Marketability
  • Next steps

Cost: .01 cents per word.
Turnaround: one to two weeks depending on length of the manuscript.

As with all of our editing services, the Developmental edit includes follow-up via email or Google Hangouts for questions, comments, and any concerns. Whether you have a question about the publishing process or want to discuss your ideas to improve your novel, we are here for you every step of the way.

All first time clients will receive a sample edit of the first five pages of their manuscript. This sample allows our clients to make sure the Quick Fox is the right fit for you.

The Quick Fox offers custom payment plans for every service we provide. You can break up the cost of your edit into smaller increments months ahead of time. We understand that publishing is a long term financial commitment, and are happy to work with you to make the cost of putting out your next book a little easier on your budget.
