Line editing is the first stage of copy editing, where your editor will analyze the way your book is written, rather than what you’ve written.
This stage includes:
Weeding out redundancies
Showing versus telling
Issues with tense
Shifts in point of view and perspective
Cliches
Sentence variation
Dialogue
Spelling
Grammar
Punctuation use
Paragraph length
Scene transitions
Fact-checking
Small scale plot and character problems
Authors come first.
Changes made in line editing include both comments in margins as well as track changes in Word. At the end of the day, your book is your own, and you have the right to both approve or deny any changes we make.
Cost: .015 cents per word.
Turnaround time: one to two weeks, depending on length of the manuscript.
